We check out the latest in postmodern gamelan music from Dewa Alit via Black Truffle, a collision of pop drums and postminimalist mallets from Jlin and Third Coast Percussion, and new trio albums by Anna Gadt, Evan Strauss and Bagman (featuring Pat Thomas). Alice Kemp makes her Flotation Device debut with Songs of Erotic Mourning, while Farzan Salsabili explores a more cosmopolitan style of dark ambient via Unexplained Sounds’ new anthology of radical Iranian music.
