Rising Up with Sonali is an all-women run Radio and Television show that brings progressive news coverage rooted in gender and racial justice to a wide audience. The show is hosted and executive produced by Sonali Kolhatkar. The radio program airs on Pacifica stations KPFA and KPFK, and several affiliate stations. The television show airs on Free Speech TV (Dish Network, DirecTV, Roku).

Jennifer Wells, Director of Economic Justice at Community Change Action will give us a report on the third annual Day Without Child Care that drew thousands of people to demand more from their representatives

Then, Lajward Zahra, a Freshman at Rice University, and a young journalist, will join me to discuss Generation Zs powerful political activism and whether or not it will translate into political power in the election.

Finally, documentary filmmaker Dbora Souza Silva will join me to discuss her award winning new film For Our Children, about Black mothers fighting for justice for their children who were brutalized and murdered by police. Shell be joined by Rev. Wanda Johnson, the mother of Oscar Grant, whos prominently featured in the film.
